Smith, who plays Lloyd, is a seasoned rodeo expert
A Montana ranching family faces off against others who are encroaching on their land. Forrie J. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his Montana accent and reverts to the SoCal accent he usually uses. Featured in WatchMojo: The 10 Best Unusual Summer TV Shows (2018).
Last night I finished the first episode of the first season, which is almost 90 minutes long
This series has been on the air since 2018, but I just watched it for the first time. In terms of introducing the Dutton family, we see that they have a lot of influence in their valley, but they are fighting off “invasions.” One of the developers wants to put up housing. Another from a neighboring Native American reservation wants to reclaim some of his land as well as some of his cattle. Dutton (who is authentically played by 60-year-old Kevin Costner) has several grown cowboy sons and a helicopter with a dedicated pilot to help him deal with this and the sheer size of the ranch.
"1883" which is a prequel of sorts
) was to feel the Dutton family because I’m currently watching ten episodes of Taylor Sheridan’s new show. (Fictional) In 1883, the Dutton family from Tennessee joined a larger group to drive “somewhere west” from Fort Worth, Texas. They probably stopped when they got to Montana. Again, this is fiction, but given the ages of the men and the fact that Costner was born in 1955, his character would probably be the great-grandson of the Dutton patriarch (played by Tim McGraw) from "1883.
With sons born in 1875, 1900, 1925, and the 1950s
For example. "Yellowstone" is a very good show, the actors are all top-notch, the cinematography and sound are also excellent. It’s just not the kind of show I can invest in and keep watching. It’s hard to find characters with redeeming qualities, and I don’t really like long-running series that focus on constant fights and fights, and often murders.
Now in my 70s I prefer “comfortable” stories
NB – “1883” is a really good and interesting series, because it authentically depicts the great difficulties of putting down roots and traveling to unknown territories to try to find a new life in a new place.
