Smith, who plays Lloyd, is experienced in the rodeo world
Plot
A family of ranchers in Montana face off against others who encroach on their land. Forrie J. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to "forget" his Montana accent and reverts to the SoCal speaking voice he usually uses.

This series has been on the air since 2018, but this is my first time watching it. I finished the first episode of the first season last night, it’s almost 90 minutes long. Introducing the Dutton family, we see them as a powerful force in their valley, but they defend themselves against "attacks." One of the developers wants to build condos.
Another from a neighboring local reservation who wants to reclaim some of their land and livestock
To cope with all this and the sheer size of his ranch, Dutton (played authentically by a 60-year-old Kevin Costner) has several grown cowboy sons and a helicopter with a dedicated pilot. The reason I watched the first episode of the first season (streaming on Peacock) was to get a feel for the Dutton family, because I’m currently watching ten episodes of Taylor Sheridan’s latest show, “1883,” which is a prequel of sorts. It was (fictionally) 1883 when the Dutton family from Tennessee joined a larger band of caravans from Fort Worth, Texas, heading “somewhere out West.” They must have stopped when they got to Montana.
It’s just not the kind of show I could invest money in and keep watching
Again, this is all fiction, but given the ages of the men and the fact that Costner was born in 1955, his character would probably be the great, great grandson of patriarch Dutton (played by Tim McGraw) in “1883.” For example, With Sons Born Around 1875, 1900, 1925, and 1950. "Yellowstone" is a really good series, the actors are all excellent, the cinematography and sound are excellent. It’s hard to find characters with redeeming qualities, and I really don’t like long-running shows that constantly focus on arguments and fights, and often murder.
Now that I’m 70, I’d rather spend my time watching "pleasant" stories
NB – "1883" is a really good and interesting series because it authentically shows the great pain that comes with putting down roots and traveling through unknown territories to try to find a new life in a new place.
