Plot
The Jackal is a tough assassin who makes a living by making hits for the highest fee. He soon meets his match in a tough British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. "The Day of the Jackal" novel is set in 1963 and involved an assassination attempt on then-French President Charles de Gaulle.
I love everything Eddie Redmayne is in
The show moves the setting to the present day.. Reference in Graham Norton and guests: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). He has a vulnerability that just makes me dig deeper into the characters.
Her acting or on-screen persona is not worth it
As a cold-blooded assassin here, it’s a stretch, IMHO, but it makes sense for “hiding in plain sight.” As others have already pointed out, the female lead simply ruined it for me. Why she keeps getting female roles is a mystery to me. We have so many other talented actresses to choose from.
Her character doesn’t help her case either
Didn’t like her much in Captain Marvel, liked her even less that she had the 007 number, and now she just ruins the scenes every time she shows up. I’ll watch the series to the end, but… so sad that this series won’t be rewatched.
Season 2 has already been renewed
I don’t know yet how the story will progress, but I hope the Bianca character changes somehow.
