Then came the second episode
Mentioned in Korman Productions’ Deep Dive TV podcast: Earth Abides on MGM+ Deep Dive Episode 1 “Alone” with Dave and Stacie (2024). I started with an open mind as a fan of the book, the first episode was vaguely true to form, had most of the right elements. The first episode was solid, because usually everything Hollywood does falls apart due to poor casting.
It usually rarely goes over 15 minutes
And the poor casting returns with a vengeance. I often set a timer when I watch anything from America, counting down to interracial sex scenes. For some movies, 7 seconds is long and you have it with no context, no connection to the story and you sit there and wonder “What am I watching here?” It’s like instead of entertaining the audience, they want to promote interracial relationships like it’s edgy and it’s the 1950s, with such insincere inclusion.
I would kill for a funny series
And to be perfectly clear, I’m African here, a real African, not African American. And I find it so boring that I started watching movies and TV shows from the Asian market because I’m just tired of America pushing politics into everything and weird stuff that doesn’t entertain. I even reviewed episode 1, noting my absolute shock that Hollywood in America could create content that never once focused on a black woman as some kind of savior or doctor-scientist who is also a ninja assassin and can break the laws of physics.
