The real Dolours Price was married for two decades (1983-2003) to Irish actor Stephen Rea
Tale
The story is set over four tumultuous decades during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. During this time, Rea appeared in the film for which he is arguably best known in the United States: the 1992 romantic thriller The Crying Game.
The casting is absolutely perfect
In it, Rea plays Fergus, an extremely reluctant and ambivalent member of the Irish Republican Army (IRA) – the same organisation Price was involved with for many years. The leads, Gerry Adams, Brendan Hughes and Dolours Price, are perfectly cast.
You would swear you were really there to relive history
It’s brave, it’s exciting and they get 1970s Belfast down to perfection. You would honestly think you were watching a documentary, it’s so well shot.
I’m only a few episodes in, but so far it’s been a thriller
So far they’ve done a good job showing both sides of the story and they haven’t shied away from showing how the Troubles started. The Protestant/Loyalist population, with the help of the police, beat and burned the Catholics out of their homes.
